It all starts with some quite average girl, who has either had bad relationships in the past, or has never had a relationship.
And she meets this sweet guy, just by chance, and at first it is really awkward, but the sexual tension is off the hook!
As they get closer, they send of "secret" signals that they are interested in each other-but they are definitely not secret signals to the audience, because to us, it was blatantly obvious since they first met-hell, we could have written the script!
He realises she is the most amazing person he has ever met and wants to be with her forever.
And then he takes her to some magical, surreal, perfect place that he has taken the time to set up so it is absolutely perfect, just so it can be the most special moment of her life.
But As I sat in my room watching these chick flicks, I realised I actually really like a lot of them. My reasoning? Well, although we all know exactly what is going to happen in the very basic plot, none of them are the same. There are always different circumstances and different twists that make us want to keep watching. In real life everyone has different circumstances and different stories to tell. I suppose they call them chick flicks because deep down inside every girl wants their story to be in a cinema, on the big screen. We all want it to end up perfect for us, and by seeing it happen for other "everyday people" it gives us some small amount of hope that that could be us someday. That we could have that happily ever after.
For me, my perfect scenario would be me and him in field somewhere at night with fairy lights set up all around us and we would sit on a couch (possibly snuggling:) and just talk for hours and he would play this song just for me.
